Art and accessories with character and style are as exciting and important to a room as terrific textiles. These pieces tell stories or add spirit and personality to a room. They give insight to who you are or where you have been.
The same day I happened across the textiles found in “taken with textiles”, I found these great Asian pieces shown below.
Displaying this assortment is a gal who is third generation antiques dealer. Her display cabinet caught my eye- there were so many interesting pieces to see. A nice representation here of smaller, but unique, pieces. Many would look quite nice in a custom shadow box, a nicely appointed office or home library.
These pieces are beautiful, but if they aren’t your thing, perhaps this bold lion teapot is more you. There is a vast spectrum in Asian art pieces. Imagine the amount of land and cultures Asia spans.
What a fun piece to add to a dining room. I would love serving up tea to a friend with this imaginative tea pot. He automatically makes tea time feel festive. Love it. Finding tea cups to use with this guy would be fun as well.
I think I must have had the Chinese New Year on my mind while visiting this shop. I seemed to find a lot of Asian inspired pieces. The tapestry cushions found in the upstairs of this shop would actually work quite nicely with any of the pieces in the collection above. Pop into your local antiques shop- you never know what you may find.
If you are curious about where to find any of these pieces, write me! I can fill you in on who carries them.
